Socketing
Socketing depends on the grade and piece of the item, certain gear pieces have more / less sockets than other. You can increase the number of sockets by increasing the rarity of an item, such as an arcane staff with 3 socket slots, and a celestial staff with 6 sockets.
Note
1. When socketing, the first socket is guaranteed success, however, every subsequent socket has a chance to fail, and if that happens, you'll lose ALL previous sockets. So be careful these, do not get greedy.
2. Lunagem can use Dawnstone to remove.
3. After you remove one lunagem, then equip the new Lunagem, the old lunagem will disappear, it belongs consumables.
Socketing depends on the grade and piece of the item, certain gear pieces have more / less sockets than other, as an example, chests have more than pants, which have more than hands, which have more than waist. You can increase the number of sockets by increasing the rarity of an item. Here is an arcane staff with three socket slots, and a Celestial staff with six sockets.
This is a list of all rarities.
When socketing, the first socket is guaranteed success, however... every subsequent socket has a chance to fail, and if that happens, you'll lose ALL previous sockets. In alpha, I spent more than 25,000 honor trying to max the sockets on my chest. This is very RNG heavy, I know of people who have nailed 6 sockets in a row... and others like me, who despite spending 25,000 honor on special pvp sockets, had 2/6! Be careful with these, don't get greedy.
unastones and Lunagems are a way to enhance your gear without needing to regrade. In this guide, I'll explain exactly what each is, where to obtain them and how to use them.
All Lunastones and Lunagems can be found here. It's not actually done yet...
Note: New Honor Lunas will be added after it hits live in NA version.
Lunastones
Lunastones consist of Lunafrosts and Lunadrops. Though they may seem like the same thing at first, they're very different. Both Lunafrosts and Lunadrops give you the capability to enchant equipment. Only one enchantment may be on a single piece of equipment at any given time. This means that you can't stack Lunastones like you can with Lunagems. If you enchant any equipment that already has an enchantment on it, or socketed Lunagems, those enchantments and Lunagems will be destroyed.
If you upgrade any equipment via crafting, all Lunstones and Lunagems will be lost.
Lunafrosts
Lunafrosts provide an enchantment that can provide a non-stat enhancing effect, as in cast time reduction for example. Though some Lunafrosts do increase one of your five base stats, no Lunafrost is without a non-stat enhancing effect.
Lunafrosts can be obtained through crafting in Alchemy, or purchased in the Honor Point Store via the Honor Point Collector.
Some Lunafrosts do induce a "glow" onto a weapon. I'm not sure which ones exactly, but I believe it's any of the "Honorbold" Lunafrosts. Needs confirmation.
Lunadrops
Lunadrops provide a boost to one or more of your base stats be it Strength, Intelligence, Agility, Spirit or Stamina.
You can obtain Lunadrops from a variety of sources. Weaker ones drop from Coinpurses, while stronger ones or ones that increase multiple stats can be crafted through Alchemy. Other Lunadrops that give a stronger enhancement to a single stat can be bought through the Loyalty shop.
Lunagems
Lunagems provide enhancements to your equipment that don't directly influence base stats. They are socketed onto a piece of equipment and unlike Lunastones there may be more than one Lunagem on any given piece of equipment. The first Lunagem you socket is a guaranteed success, though with each Lunagem beyond that the socket chance decreases. If a gem fails to socket, it will destroy all socketed Lunagems that are already attached to that equipment.
You can obtain Lunagems through the Handicrafting Profession or by purchasing them in the Honor Point Shop via the Honor Point Collector.
The number of Lunagems that you can socket to any individual equipment is equal to however many open socket slots that equipment has. Not all equipment has the same number of sockets available. The type and grade of equipment determines this.
Regrading equipment that has socketed Lunagems is perfectly okay, as long as it doesn't downgrade to a grade that has less sockets than the grade before it downgraded.
If you upgrade any equipment via crafting, all Lunstones and Lunagems will be lost.
How to Use Lunastones and Lunagems
Oppening the UI
Applying Lunastones and Lunagems to your equipment is simple. If right clicking the Lunastone/Lunagem in your inventory doesn't open the UI, you can open it manually be clicking the little sword in the bottom right of your inventory. One that is done, you'll have
Applying a Lunastone
Once the UI is open you should have something that looks like this. All you need to do to apply a Lunastone is to put the Lunastone in the right slot, and the correct item to be enchanted in the left slot, like this. Then you just click equip at the bottom of the UI and you should get a message that says Lunastone Socket: Success.
Take note that applying a new Lunastone to an item that already has a Lunastone Enchant on it will erase the old Lunastone, and any previously socketed Lunagems will be lost.
Applying Lunagems
You apply a Lunagem similarly to that of a Lunastone. You open the UI and you put the item you want to socket in the right slot, and the equipment you want the Lunagem socketed onto in the left slot like so. The first Lunagem socket is a guaranteed success, but chances to succeed drop with each following Lunagem socket. if you're lucky, you'll get exactly what you want.
Removing a Lunagem
You remove Lunagems the same way you put them on, but instead you use a Dawnstone in place of a Lunagem and you need to specify that you wish to remove the Lunagem. It should look lie this prior to removing the Lunagems. As far as I know, you do NOT get your Lunagems back if you remove them with a Dawnstone.
Lunagems
Lunagems are socketed gems that can applied to your gear. When attempting to socket a Lunagem, the first one is a guaranteed success but the following ones are totally random. To remove a Lunagem, you will need to get a Dawnstone from a General Merchant.
